July 6 (EIRNS)--Sputnik along with Pravda.ru, and Russia Today (RT) have highlighted the Schiller Institute's petition calling on the U.S. and European Union to join with the BRICS countries in abandoning geopolitics and joining in the new paradigm of "win-win" economic development. The article prominently featured an interview with Helga Zepp-LaRouche, founder and chair of the Schiller Institute, who identified the two grave threats to world stability: the collapse of the trans-Atlantic financial system and the danger of thermonuclear war, stemming from U.S. and NATO provocations against Russia and China.

The article was run on RT in Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and English, and on various other sites in Italian, and even Turkish. Sites such as Brazil Business Today and the Polish Gazette, were among those sites monitored thus far. A Russian-language version of the report by RIA Novosti, with which Sputnik is affiliated, gave even more detail from Zepp-LaRouche and New York Schiller Institute spokesperson Lynne Speed; it has been published by scores of Russian newspapers and websites.

The petition is available at http://schillerinstitute.org/strategic/2014/1121-brics-declaration-with-form.html

On Monday morning, July 6, Helga Zepp-LaRouche gave a second interview to Sputnik News, which is believed to have been aired live. The interview touched on the bankruptcy of the trans-Atlantic region and the looming war danger, among other topics.

U.S. Petition on BRICS Warns Against NATO Confrontation With Russia, China

06/07/2015

NEW YORK (Sputnik) -- The goal of a petition on cooperation with BRICS nations circulated in the United States is to highlight the danger of confrontation with Russia and China, Schiller Institute founder Helga Zepp LaRouche said Monday.

The petition titled "Resolution Calling for the U.S. and Europe to Reject Geopolitics and Collaborate with the BRICS" was initiated by the U.S.-based Schiller Institute and urges Washington and the European Union to collaborate with BRICS nations for the sake of global economic development. It has been signed by more than 2,000 people in the United States and internationally.

"The main purpose of [the petition] is to make people aware, that there is an alternative to the present policy of confrontation against Russia and China," the institute founder told RIA Novosti.

According to Zepp LaRouche, the world is currently facing two interconnected major threats: the collapse of the transatlantic system and the threat of a thermonuclear war triggered by the current policies of NATO toward Russia and China, which could lead to "the extinction of mankind."

The Schiller Institute founder underscored that the BRICS nations present a new model of international relations based on mutual cooperation, which is the essence of the new world order.

"This model is very attractive, as was demonstrated in the huge amount of economic agreements between the BRICS and many countries in South and Central America, Asia, Africa and even some European countries since the last summit in Fortaleza, Brazil, one year ago," Zepp LaRouche added.

The BRICS group is a union of five economies, comprising Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, which cooperate on a wide range of issues, including finance and economy.

The five group members, that account for more than one-third of the world's population, are developing nations whose political and economic influence continues to steadily increase.

The petition is being circulated ahead of the seventh BRICS summit that will be held in the Russian city of Ufa on July 8-9.
